That's not quite correct. The government *does* care about you- just not on the level that normal people use the word "care" for. They care about us as a resource- a mostly *expendable* resource. They don't care about us as human beings with feelings and thoughts and all that. They have no sympathy or empathy for us- we're just numbers to them. But we're numbers that each carry a value, monetarily. That's it, that's the extent of the "care" they have towards people.
