This reminds me of almost exactly what they tried to do after my dads death.

My dads doctor called me after he passed away and wanted to know if I wanted to participate in a government research study. He thought it was specifically about his disease as that’s what he had been told, so I agreed.

I finally got the paper work a few weeks later and the dates of appointments/conferences and it was nothing about his disease.

It was basically the government wanting to know why he and others fought their disease/s for years(he was the longest survivor at that time) instead of just giving up and saving Medicare/insurance money.

They wanted us to fill out forms/questionnaires, discussion groups and speak to counselors so they could figure out how to persuade others in the future to just give up.

Of course I was like fuck this, they’ll won’t get that info from me to kill others. I called the doctor and kinda flipped out on him and he apologized and asked me to send him a copy of the paperwork.

A few days later the hospital system stopped participating in the study. No idea if it was for ethical reasons or they feared they would lose money in the future if the government found out a way to convince people to not seek treatments.

Problem with the government is that it's a 155mm canon, an all or nothing canon

And in the case of the US it's a 800mm

If there's any miscalculation, it's a disaster, and that's without even considering malevolence or sheer stupidity

I bet most of its done on purpose these geriatrics can barely speak let alone write a 5,000 page bill.

And the bill/law always “somehow” messes everything up more and they didn’t realize this would happen as 3/4 of the electorate was telling them beforehand this is exactly what would happen.

Next up let the problem linger then pass a bill to fix the problem but throw in a bunch of pork and another layer of bureaucracy.
