The name graphene oxide is the basic term for all monolayer graphene derivatives that contain oxygen atoms. Similar to graphite oxide, but only one layer of atoms. It contains carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen in variable ratios that produce very different kinds of stuff - and you can add metals and a lot of other stuff that changes it even more, so the normally harmless graphite can become toxic.
