You're absolutely correct, someone made some money on this.

That's fo sure, US population is 332M (rounding up due to illegals) and 500 kits means somebody calculated more 'gibs me dat' than the population/families since it was supposed to be 2 kits ( and two tests in each kit) per family, and there's half of the test kits unclaimed. I have mine, and years from now kits'll be found in many antique or 'old stuff' stores (people like looking at old unopened medicines and products for some reason).
