In a way you're right, the spectrum thing is relative to where we are as a species. I am picky, and with vegetables, it's not the flavor, it definitely is the texture. Can't gag them things down. What you say about the spectrum is not unlike what the shrink who diagnosed me said about it. It's noticeable now simply because the way society has progressed. At one time, a variety of different types of people were needed in order to make sure shit carried on; not because we're special, no one is, but not needing the social interaction that most do was one variation that helped ensure the survival of the group. That variation was just one of many that isn't so important now that we don't live so close to the ground as we once did, and the fact that technology, while it works, takes much risk out of the equation.

Just prepare your veggies in a way you like, then. Steamed veggies have different textures than raw veggies. You can blend them or sauté and mix with different foods to get different textures.

A blender is the only way I can manage them. Same with fruit, with the exception of the occasional blueberry, but it has to be fresh picked. Like I said, I don't mind the flavor of most vegetables, probably due to the amount of butter, salt, and pepper that I would use, but the textures are pretty much impossible for me to get past no matter the method of preparation. At this point in my life, I let my food eat the vegetables for me, and I think of all the grass and green stuff that steer ate before becoming my burger.
