I love this narrative:

  1. Hospitals closing due to surge. --- Hmm ... ok, that doesn't make sense.
  2. Fine, hospitals closing due to staffing shortage. --- Hmm ... but why are there shortages?
  3. Fine, hospital closing due to staff not showing up. --- Hmm ... odd, why is that?
  4. OK, hospital closing due to staff not showing because they refused the vax and we fired them.

They can never admit #4 because that would destroy the narrative.

I know 3 Houston area healthcare workers who are no longer working. It's very common right now.

I've seen all sorts of BS... "They are quitting because of being burned out." etc. They can't afford to admit the truth.

Hey would you look at that, no video or photos.

The story says they are closing three “stand alone” ER’s, not hospitals. They are going to reassign staff to the main hospitals.

Right. If you look up "Memorial Hermann Convenient Care Center in Kingwood" on google, it has it listed as a hospital.

I used the word "Hospital" intentionally as I don't believe the article is being honest. There is some nuance on facility care levels, if they have an ICU ward, etc. But, bottom line is that these newer "stand alone ERs" are larger than some hospitals.

Besides ignoring the real reason for the closing (that they fired the staff), the article is also downplaying the closing that it is just an ER.

My wording was intentional.

You're free write whatever you want. It’s my opinion that the title is deceptive. Free standing ER’s do not have ICU”’s. I’ve worked at many of them. They have normal ER room set ups, a radiology department and a Lab. They have always been run by a parent hospital and operate under their medical direction. “Houston Hospital Closes “Free Standing” ER due to “Covid Surge”.

Normal ICU before the pandmeic was full 24/7.. so you cant be Burned out ICU nurses are a ratio of 1 nurse for ever 1 bed. So burned out would eb 12 hr shifts 7 days a week for 18 months.. and now they have less nurses and they push for 20hr shifts Burned out due to shortages of staff

This is such bullshit. I live on the edge of Houston and it's business as usual everywhere around here. Clear Lake hospitals are damn near ghost towns. I've been back and forth for the past two weeks into that area following surgery and I've yet to see anything that indicates they're overloaded with patients of any kind.
