After three years the body of the soldier begins to degrade to the point that the soldier is discharged as unfit for war and sent to the private sector to live out their life. Maybe a few will die or become paralyzed during treatment, but this won't be an issue with private treatment rooms for the soldier - with a back exit for the gurneys when necessary. What would this future look like? Conscription - of both men and women. The arrangement for ladies has been made recently, and is necessary to fill the pipeline with increased medical turnover. The ranks of the National Guard and Reserves will dwindle as active duty personnel are given medical discharge after three years under the influence of this hypothetical drug. These units would be nationalized or disbanded and the U.S. Army, not National Guard, would be dispatched domestically to provide crisis support to domestic governments. Credible fighting units under political control of state governors would be removed over the course of a few years. Strategic defense of the lower 48 states would be weakened considerably.
