Christianity did not come around until the time of Jesus. There were religions before Christianity. Jews in that time were not reading from the Talmud, because it didn't exist yet. People, civilization, and religion were much different back then. Christianity has only been around since the first century CE. Judaism, Buddhism, Confucianism, and Zoroastrianism are all much older religions from BC. I'm not even sure what you are getting at by saying it's propaganda.
