>I'm no biologist but these claims of mucus from a sick patient not transmitting the virus to others even when injected or ground into the eyes seems like a fallacy. Kids catch colds (viruses) at school, bring them home and it spreads through the family. If not aerosol or contact, what biological mechanism allows this?
The answer to your question is here. There's a great book called Invisible Rainbow that goes into detail about this. But forward to 18 minutes and it answers your question.

On another note, ask any woman you know... if they hang out with another woman for more than a week daily, their periods sync up. Your body has a biological clock. It knows when is the best time to detox and do its things. Anyway, I like these videos because it perfectly explains the situation in laymen's terms.
This 2-3 videos I linked above are my favs on the subject. Here's another one that's easy to understand, but more boring: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LE1bTKn-r9w
