this is pretty common for activists. a lot of global warming crap was "six million scientists say", but then you go and look at who they are and it is unrelated fields, and they are just saying "yeah, i believe the narrative" without looking at any information.

Scott adams (the vaccine promoter) often brings up the "17 intelligence agencies say trump colluded with russia", in reality it was likely one person, at one agency who had his team back him, then the agency, then the other agencies; no one looked into anything (likely).
