The media is has moved beyond manipulating numbers and metrics or counting cases or deaths in a weird way. They no longer need to bring in fake 'experts' or crisis actors... now they just flat out make up stories. Case in point:

Dr. Melisa Lai-Becker, the medical director for the emergency department at Cambridge Health Alliance's Everett Hospital, spent much of Monday afternoon urgently calling hospitals all over the state.

"I was searching for an ICU , the medical director for the emergency department at Cambridge Health Alliance's Everett Hospital? Or did Dr. Melisa Lai-Becker lie to WGBH on her own agenda? I'm tempted to give her a call at 617-389-6270 and ask her.

Case in point: > https://www.wgbh.org/news/local-news/2022/01/04/no-icu-beds-left-massachusetts-hospitals-are-maxed-out-as-covid-continues-to-surge > > Dr. Melisa Lai-Becker, the medical director for the emergency department at Cambridge Health Alliance's Everett Hospital, spent much of Monday afternoon urgently calling hospitals all over the state. > > "I was searching for an ICU [intensive care unit] bed for one of our patients, and every single facility is full," she said. "They are at full capacity. They have no ICU beds left." > > She even started looking up hospitals she could call in neighboring states, but they're in the same predicament. But yet from the very same day the official Massachusetts COVID-19 Interactive Data Dashboard says: > https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-response-reporting > > As of today ... 86% of ICU beds are occupied. There are currently 0 beds occupied through alternate medical sites. The news story from WGBH Boston is a pure fabrication. So did WGBH bribe [Dr. Melisa Lai-Becker](https://www.challiance.org/doctors/profile?n=249), the medical director for the emergency department at Cambridge Health Alliance's Everett Hospital? Or did Dr. Melisa Lai-Becker lie to WGBH on her own agenda? I'm tempted to give her a call at 617-389-6270 and ask her.

I hear you... but to me it seems that up until now they have been at least making vague efforts to have a veneer of credibility. Out of context quotes, misrepresented data, biased 'experts' etc. ... In this case it is a transparently fabricated lie. The state publishes data and this article maintains the exact opposite

Not really. They have been playing the “hospitals are full” card since April of 2020. They claimed that the hospital near me was so filled to capacity that they had to build outside triage tents. Not only are there Youtubes of that same tent being completely empty, but you can see the ER (Elmhurst Hospital) waiting room had only 2 people.

Another great video of a Kentucky urgent care with the answering machine telling tales of woe and over capacity. Huge parking lot with 2 cars in it and empty waiting area.

Another great Youtube I like to reference is the one in Brazil where the hospital was telling a local Mayor or Governor that they had like 6,000 Covid patients and needed more funding. That politician (bless his soul) went down there with a cadre of camera men and physically pushed through armed security and showed that the whole place was empty and it was all a fraud.

Whats bugs me is hospitals are by design, run at 100% capacity. You dont pay doctors to sit around.
