Growing up my mother used to ask me if my friends told me to jump off a bridge would I, I would always answer rationally with an NO. how did the majority of people think that answering YES!!!! was the right answer?

How can you claim the rational answer is no? Experience shows that most people will jump off a bridge if everyone else is and examples of such a thing are far far more numerous than the opposite.
