We're in the middle of a self-described "staffing crisis." Some of the managers I've talked to can barely run their departments as is. One of the questions I had considered is "How many skilled employees can this plant afford to lose?"
Follow it up with maybe a show of hands?
The hospital system I work for has to call the purebloods back (I’m one of them btw), your company would have to as well.
Stock up on food and wait it out till they change their mind? What did you do in the interim if you don't mind me asking?
Part time work as best I could. You can also, right now, start looking for some new full time job, unless you live in a communist hell hole.
As of now truck driving is something I’m probably going to look into as well.
Only temporary.
Correct.

Good. That's where you need them.

Hands? A walkout sends the best message. Let them preach to those who are left after a lot of y'all walk off.
This is the part that I'm personally struggling with. I agree with you, and I likely would find some way of being okay in the event I lose my job, but it would be tough for my family for a while. Ideally I'd like to keep working here - I just want them to not make or follow retarded policies.
It isn't going to play out in a way you or I aren't inconvenienced. I have nothing to say they want to hear- i an turning around and walking out when it is time. My employer desperately needs me and has 8k sign on bonuses that are going unclaimed.
