Perhaps the body of water they get their water from is at a lower elevation than their hide out. I do agree about the need to change out the water though, I was waiting to see how they handled that but they did not address it. Other than that I thought it was pretty cool though. I imagine its pretty hot where they live and putting it underground gives them a nice cool place to hang out. Not sure why they were putting the fires in there though other than ambiance.
