I purchased a bunch of 8' 2x4s there. Imagine my surprise when the actual measurements were anywhere between 96" to 96.5", usually 96.25".
I wasn't surprised at all. What is surprising is that this bonehead apparently didn't put a tape to anything till he had finished framing. Amazing.

If you buy enough of them, you essentially get a free 2x4. Some assembly required though.

As with most woodworking these days, it's cheaper to get the prefab, what with the amount of glue you'd use... But it would be fun
