That post feels fake and by someone that doesn't know anything. How does someone with almost 40 years of experience not know he's buying precut studs? This sounds like the op did his math based on 8 foot studs, assumed he bought 8 foot studs, only to realize he did it wrong and no one stopped him.
I don't buy him wasting material either. 2 4x8 feet sheet of plywood is 96 inches wide/high (depending on how you look at it, plywood is normally installed long side horizontal) which is what his wall height should be. I just can't fathom how he wasted material...unless he's got sheets of plywood now?
