the actual measurements were anywhere between 96" to 96.5", usually 96.25".
If you buy enough of them, you essentially get a free 2x4. Some assembly required though.

As with most woodworking these days, it's cheaper to get the prefab, what with the amount of glue you'd use... But it would be fun
