It's probably a new one? I've noticed they started using some kind of cheap vinyl crap on everything and it starts to come of when exposed to even a small amount of heat.

Made in USA, I’d like to think the glue was Chinese.

One thing I remember as a kid looking for treasures on the job site while my parents house was being built was the surprising number of tape measures I would find, some clearly "hammered" before being discarded.

Tapes and knives, seem to go through them as quick as pencils. Don’t usually break knives, just put them down where I won’t forget them and forget them.

how the fuck does that even happen.

Not sure, only 2 months in. It was a hot one yesterday, but that’s no excuse. Can’t even blame China, had a made in USA stamp.

I was gonna ask, is it like 16 years old? Man that's just sad. Should still be under warranty. I'd send it in and see how long the replacement lasts. Might just be a fluke.

Eh, not my tape, don’t care. Other guy was a bit upset about it though.

planned obsolescence and less material to cut production costs. and probably cost more than a year or two ago. because of debt based money. the interest on loans is not put into circulation. interest is paid out of the principal. look at PPI over the years especially post lockdown.

Nice. Complete delamination. Only the second time I've ever seen that.

Crazy times call for crazy measures.
