Big oil is actually cleaning up an environmental disaster with the Alberta oil sands. Nature spilled a shit load of oil all over and it leaks into rivers and lakes.

Do you have a coherent reference for that work of fantasy? I suppose those tailing ponds were put there by nature? (pembina.org) I suspect nature was doing just fine before big oil arrived and started destroying shit.

Nature was leaking carcinogens into the water, so no it wasn't doing fine before.

The damage from tar-sand extraction is obviously far, far more. Especially considering almost everything is a carcinogen - see if you can do your research and find the one chemical that isn't?
