It was a sad day when IBM sold Lenovo off to china. They were bullet-proof laptops back in the day. I had one that I think is still in a storage bin somewhere (and could still run *nix) that I beat the hell of of.

I have a even older one that has something like windows 98 on it with a parallel port so I could hook it into a ODB port on my (previous) car so I could read data and modify the programming (only did it a few times. I am not a huge gear head but I like to tinker). I bet it still works even though it has not been powered on in at least 8 years. Hell, it was OLD when I bought it like 15+ years ago.

They still have good hardware and build quality, but their prices are going WAY up.
