Gotta have those AI data centers, goy....how else will you be able to have it code for you while you generate those triple-shitting-dick-nipple-nine-tailed-tranny-fox pictures you get off to?

Give it about 6 months. When the AI bubble bursts and data centers get shuddered RAM will be back to affordable prices. Maybe lower. I got 64GB of DDR4 in this workstation so I am good for the foreseeable.

When I upgraded my main Thinkpad 13 months ago, I first considered of putting in 32GB, but the price difference to the max 64GB was negligible. I had just gotten into 3D scanning and lots of memory is always a plus. Buy once, cry once, I thought. Little did I know.

€207 for the whole shebang at the time, today's price: €523

Ouch, what a jump in price.

The $189 64Gb DDR5 kit I have in my rig is now selling for $787 last time I looked.

In other news I have invested in a heavy duty surge protector and am looking to replace my UPS.

Both of those items are a good investment.
