I feel like they still make too much money from the market to just give it up.. Then again....

From the post:

>Imagine it’s the year 2030 and Nvidia has just announced its newest RTX 7000-series graphics cards. But the cheapest of the cards is priced over $2,000 and the top model is nearly double that. The series offer minimal uplift on rendering performance, but they’re incredibly good at accelerated upscaling and frame generation. Plus, memory bandwidth is almost double over the last-gen models.

How much further can they really take a video card?

AMD still makes GPUs right?

They sure do. That's part of why I don't think nvidia would give up the consumer market.

AMD/Radeon (ATI) has also been in many of the console systems for a long while as well. They have their market. I don't think nVidia will give up the ground to them if they don't feel like they have to. It still brings in a ton of $$$.

Enterprise computing gear is built better, handles heat and power savings, is reliable, and these usually come at a slight performance cost. My experience anyways.

It sounds like a way off the performance sensitive gaming market while getting to charge a fat premium for the more basic thermal and structural engineering.

AI people will not bitch on their blogs about some rendering shortcut that impairs visual quality. If it runs a little cooler and does the job they will be happy.
