It's time to replace a printer here which is a Samsung SCX-3405 wireless scan + b/w laser printer. HP bought Samsung printing a while back and I don't care for HP consumer level products. I hear great things about Brother.

Here's what I'd like to end up with...

Must have: - Integrated print server - wireless networking - b/w laser printing

Nice to have: - ethernet - duplex printing - integrated power supply (no power brick for the printer)

Could have: - scanner - color ( I won't disqualify for color if it's a good fit, but don't want it)

Must not have: - HP logo or HP printer with different branding

Printing with CUPS then? There is good .ppd support?

Honestly.. It's worked well enough I never bothered to look into it. I used to have to beat printers into submission to get them to work at all in *nix but having it "just work" I have just not really thought about it.
