It's time to replace a printer here which is a Samsung SCX-3405 wireless scan + b/w laser printer. HP bought Samsung printing a while back and I don't care for HP consumer level products. I hear great things about Brother.

Here's what I'd like to end up with...

Must have: - Integrated print server - wireless networking - b/w laser printing

Nice to have: - ethernet - duplex printing - integrated power supply (no power brick for the printer)

Could have: - scanner - color ( I won't disqualify for color if it's a good fit, but don't want it)

Must not have: - HP logo or HP printer with different branding

It is a drama around here any time someone needs to print. The family has learned helplessness.

Sure, let's just hit Ctrl-P and see what happens... printing noises ... It says it is jammed but you only have to lift the lid and close it. printing noises ... It says it is jammed, but maybe the feed paper is not properly positioned printing noises ... just open and close the lid if the light turns orange until you get your page printed.

School today for kids... - You are expected to be able to print in color at home. - We don't have textbooks and you just read your screen. - Even college freshman does not have textbooks. "If you're not doing as well as you want in class can you be reading the book more?"

Theres still technically a book right? Its just a digital license, so you can't sell it to anyone when you pass the course?

I know, other people have different requirements. Of course, we had computer at school. 1 computer...
