This is the printer I have that I used to use for color printing or projects that called for inkjet. It also was my fax machine up until I stopped having a landline like 6 years ago. I’ve pretty much used my monochrome laser exclusively for years.

I have a need to use it to print color but it’s not working. The color cartridges are 3 individual colors. I haven’t printed color in years. No amount of cleaning cycles helps. Basically all three have nothing coming out. I’ve replaced all the toner carts with new ones but still (almost) nothing is coming out.

I’m inclined to just pull the carts out and dump rubbing alcohol everywhere but that’s probably not a good idea. I’m now $45 into new ink and I have this vinyl sticker paper I want to use. Anyone have any ideas to get this thing spraying color again?

What you need to do is order a print head cleaning kit on eBay. They're cheap and they work.

Essentially, you fill a syringe with cleaning fluid and force it through the print head, one color at a time.

I did see this. You free up the print head then put a napkin under. Seems I could make the kit myself for cheaper. Hmmmm.

You could do it yourself, but whoever made the kit supplies the proper solvent and hose size. I doubt you can obtain the necessary parts for less. But ya, i did this and it worked fine for me.

The kit the guy was shilling in the video I saw was $25 but I searched Amazon and the same shit is ~$7.00. Worth a shot. I’ll know Wednesday.
