Didn't even think to include Chromebook at Android, you're absolutely right. There's also the factor that most Linux users are VERY cagey about disclosing their data, so you'll never know how many installs exist because the users literally won't tell you....unless they're on Arch :)
A lot of computers can't be purchased without a Windows licence. My last three computers came with a windows license. All three are counted as Windows. All never never ran Windows. That's -3 for Linux and +3 for Windows. In reality it's -3 for Windows and + 3 for Linux. For a total delta of 6.
This is just one of the games they play. I can't stress enough just how conservative the counts for Linux are that I've provided to you. Some market indicators strongly imply Linux has the same desktop count as MacOS. Think about that.
