I never update any programs or apps anymore. Always breaks something or takes away features. When did it become OK to ship faulty software that can't go a day without an update!?

This happened when software was no longer shipped on physical media and became deliverable by download. When I was a developer (30 years ago) our shit had to work when we shipped it. There were no patches.
