Some years back… I have had better luck never updating than constantly updating. Use to be apple released updates and stuff got better. Long ago now. Pc updates were mostly security amd needed.
Google started off ok with android, then mission creep and bloat inevitably occurred, then you woke up an hour late because your alarm didn’t noise, the UI changed to some shitty modern art thing and likely your battery went dead 23% faster. Google has become a cesspool of diversity hires of poorly educated know it all’s.
Pandora updated and I lost features every time, many apps seemed to do that. No more updates there.
So Linux…. Update when you want, usually it’s better. Neat.

This is a really bad idea. Most of those updates are security updates. You are essentially saying fuck it I don't need locks on my doors who cares. All it takes is one click on some of those cancer ridden sites posted here. They'll pop your out of date chrome or Firefox, and now you owe Vlad 300 bucks of monero to get your shitty computer back.

Yeah it sucks, but they package security updates in those too. The best way to make sure your computer isn't insta fucked is by making sure its got all the latest updates.

If the IT industry was held to the same standards as say, the auto industry used to be held to half the cunts would be in jail.
Paying for Windows for instance, is the equivalent of paying for a V8 Holden Commodore, then it gets 'updated' to a 4 cylinder, then another update makes it a hatchback, then another update makes it a ford then the next minute your $50,000 high end sports sedan is a fucking gay ass little underpowered 20 year old ford fiesta, all the while claiming 'you agreed to this'
THANKFULLY because they advertise themselves that they will do this, they invalidate the EULA, and if the EULA is invalid before youve even 'bought' anything then you dont actually have to pay for it, because the retards made it free to obtain online.

This happened when software was no longer shipped on physical media and became deliverable by download. When I was a developer (30 years ago) our shit had to work when we shipped it. There were no patches.
