My touchpad suddenly become sticky. It feels like dried sugar. I've tried cleaning it with Lysoform as usual, but it doesn't work this time. Anybody knows what else can I use for cleaning it without damaging the touchpad surface?

[edit] On internet there are two opposite opinions about Isopropyl. One source claims it's good for touchpad. Another source says it may damage the touchpad. I need somebody who tried it personally.

as others have stated, isopropyl alcohol is what you want, BUT make sure to either apply it to the cloth/paper first or make sure you mop up 100% of it. There are some plastics/coatings that will be affected by alcohol, but if it doesn't sit in it then it won't have time to happen (most likely).

I once cleaned my phone by spraying it on and it got between the case and phone and dissolved some of the sides of the phone, it was just aesthetic, but i could imagine times when it could be an issue (dripping down monitor screen into bezel or something).
