As many of you have likely caught onto, Windows 11 requires a TPM 2.0 Module, and as you may or may not know, Business-class workstaitons for the past few years often contain TPM on the chipset/MB, but often retail boards from ASUS, MSI, ASROCK, etc, included a TPM header, but not the TPM module itself. And, as I've discovered in the past few days, there's no TPM header standard, and each MB maker seems to have just designed their own and then cranked out a few, but seemingly not expecting to sell many in the retail market - gamers and home users, etc.
Well, let me say that were you to have purchased a great ASUS or ASROCK or whatever, in the last couple of years, yes, a TPM 2.0 module was available, but go looking for one, and you'll find that nearly everywhere lists the modules as Discontinued, Unavailable, Out of Stock, etc
It was literally about a $20 part originally.
Now go over to EBAY..... Yeah,,, $100......
So you want to put Win11 on your $350 super-gaming X299 chipset i9 MB, etc, etc, etc.... Well, you're going to have to turn to the scalpers, it seems...
Go ahead, take a gander:
