Finally caved in and bought a new laptop. I wanted something beefy enough without breaking the bank. Best Buy had this Asus on sale for $1200 and it seemed to fit my requirements.

- 16 GB ram
- 1 TB SSD
- Geforce RTX 2060 max Q
- Ryzen 4900HS CPU
Unfortunately I now gotta learn Windows 10. I haven't used a PC after Windows 7.
I wanted something with enough balls to play games for a while. With Cyberpunk 2077 coming out next month I think I'll be able to play at decent graphics settings.
It's been about 10 years since I've bought a PC. I've been getting by with an iPad mini 3 for the last years but it's starting to get slow loading some websites if it can even load them at all. Now I'll be able to share dank memes without trouble.
The Ryzen seems to be a good CPU. I've been reading good things about it. I feel better giving AMD a shot this time over Intel. My last laptop had a Core 2 Duo. Which was fine 10 years ago. Fucking time flies.
