Funny enough, the 6 figure jobs are the ones disappearing first. There's law firms not hiring junior attorneys because AI is cheaper. We're going to have lawyers that passed the BAR hundreds of thousands in debt and be employed in a field they didn't study in. Those same law firms are going to shut down because there's going to be no one to replace the old guard that chose to go with AI.
They’re getting hit from all angles.
I think you’re referring specifically to AI impact, which I alluded to.
I was talking moreso about people like Elon relocating major portions of his company, taking the mid level and exec positions to new states. All the LLCs the Google guys moved to Florida, Palantir leaving Colorado.
They are reestablishing a base of operations and taking leadership with them. That is relocating all the 6 figure positions, and those companies will continue to grow in their new homes.
Result: loss of long term growth in socialist blue states
Additionally, the demand for lower wage support jobs, the 5 jobs to 1 high paying job, will transfer. The low wage people in socialist blue states won’t be able to easily pick up and leave.
Result: there is a drain on the system from both ends for the socialist blue states.
And lastly, AI is going to take its cut evenly across the board, so socialist blue loses even more high paying jobs.
Result: increase in demand on socialist blue generous services with fewer people to pay for it.
To your last point about not hiring new workforce because AI can now do it faster, better, cheaper….then not having any trained experts to replace retiring gray beards…yeah, the strategy around that is something I’m working at my company.
