I'm convinced this is just one elaborate humiliation ritual and extortion opportunity. They sort all of it at the end point anyway. We got this yellow bin for plastic shit and then one time I saw the truck dump it all in one anyway and I felt retarded for bothering to go out of my way to separate my trash. In Japan, there are some stick-in-the-ass types who take the trash sorting very seriously, to the point that they'd report you to the cops if they see you do it wrong.
