I found a store in California called Erewhon that serves expensive lattes, smoothies and other overpriced sundries. The store has long lines of generation x, y and z adults waiting for their favorite overpriced indulgences. The ingredients contain even more items than Starbucks lattes and cost easily double.

Yea. KEK. A friend of mine had to drag me into this joint. Not wanting to insult him, I drop over $40 on smoothies and lattes. But it was worth it to experience the over indulgence. I was looking at the clientele, it seems to me they spend half their paychecks on lattes and smoothies and the other half on loaves of bread.

A generation ago, they might have been called "nouveau riche". Nouveau gauche sounds more pertinent.
