As a long-term comic fan I appreciate the message, having characters that follow the initial design will be a refreshing return to old - I for one am tired of seeing characters redesigned to sell books. I also like the idea of having a single timeline with no relaunch/reimagine/repeat origin, though I can appreciate the idea of going back in time to resolve a problem as long as this writing trick is not abused.
