What happened with my Grandparents, is that my Grandma kept trying to get my Grandpa's attention, but he turned off his hearing aids years ago, because he got tired of her trying to get his attention.

So, conversations were just my Grandma screaming "STAAAAAN" all day long, and my Grandpa ignoring her. At that point, you don't even have "What'd you have for lunch" to talk about, anyway.

I don't think this is a good representation.
