Denver food recovery nonprofit We Don’t Waste will give away thousands of potatoes on Monday at its warehouse at 6090 E. 39th Ave.
Organizers said there are no limits to the giveaway, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday. The community can bring a tote bag, a wagon, or fill an entire pickup truck.
We Don't Waste has a mission of "rescuing quality food to help feed people, not landfills." The nonprofit said the 42,000 pounds of fresh potatoes were headed for a landfill.
