Naw, fuck you and fuck your shit you commie pieces of shit. This is attempted forced behavioral modification by saying "Get on our poorly ran, dangerous public transit and maybe you get a bonus. In the future we will make this required and PUNISH you for not doing it".

Fuck these commie states. Did you know that Commierado will try to charge you a "exit tax" if you sell a property in the state that is not considered your primary residence? If you are leaving the state and selling property make sure your "primary residence" is still considered in commierado or they are going to send you a BIG bill.

From the post:

>The City of Denver is encouraging residents to leave their cars behind and opt for more sustainable transportation through a new incentive program that offers rewards for changing commuting habits. The initiative, called "Shift 2," challenges people who live and work in Denver to replace at least two solo driving trips each week with alternative modes of transportation such as walking, biking, carpooling or using public transit.

City officials say participants who log those trips online will be entered into monthly drawings for gift cards, totaling about $1,000 each month. The prizes feature local restaurants and businesses.

lol, so you don't get anything, you "might" get something.

Lucent Technologies tried something like this when I worked there. The place had an attendance problem, and to try and rectify that situation they started a program where once a quarter, if you didn't have any unexcused absences, you'd get X tickets for a drawing. It was something like 30 prizes for 2500 people (can't remember the exact number of hourlies, it was a lot.) The more absences you had, the less tickets you got. It would culminate in a drawing for a car after 12 quarters or something, maybe it was 16. Prizes were all boomerjunk and the only ones worthwhile were the ones where a small amount of cash was awarded.

The program ran for two quarters, and was discontinued. Not only did it not improve anything, the amount of absences went up (probably statistically insignificant) by a small amount.

Point of the story is that people are probably going to play along once, but when they see there is no real benefit then audience participation will drop off to nothing.

Most (working) people are not fucking retards. You tell them "get perfect attendance and you MIGHT get something". Fuck you man. I don't really care.

Pay me and give me a bonus if I earned it. Give me a promotion if I earned it.

I don't get one fuck about your stupid piece of shit corp program that should have never existed and was probably some POS CEO's wife's "pet project" because "reasons".

Fucking Retards.

That was the consensus of most everyone.

A small quarterly bonus of say $75 (in 1995) would probably have been better and kept people engaged.

It's even more fun when you work in a "start up" that's not a start up exactly and says they are going to make it employee owned only to fracture the company into 10 different LLC's that you have no stake in because of reasons.

Assholes take advantage of anyone they can. When you figure it out they become openly hostile to you because you refuse to let them take advantage of them. May they all rot in hell.
