Active incident. I so hate that kind of useless corporate speak.

Address the situation at hand simply and precisely. Just say fire.

"Active" is only precise for a limited time span but it sounds so much more professional and dramatic.

The wording adds almost no value. Active incident: I stubbed my toe. Which part of the sentence can be ditched without losing anything important?

Its purpose is to be "scary clicpbait for the masses" so they can sell advertising clicks.
