Fort Collins Police Services and city officials responded to concerns about drug-related activity at the Fort Collins Mennonite Fellowship. On Tuesday, people at the church had to leave. “There were police officers and officials from the city telling us we had to evacuate,” pastor Steve Ramer said. In a statement, Assistant City Manager Rupa Venkatesh said Fort Collins Police Services “has increasingly observed problematic drug-related behavior in and at the Mennonite Fellowship. Appropriate staff (Building, Code, Police, City Attorney’s Office) has determined that the conditions on the property are unsafe due to methamphetamine contamination, and that the property should be placarded and shut down from any use under our City Building Code. The Larimer County Health and Environment Department was notified of the City’s intent to placard the property as well."
