The tornado struck at 12:41 p.m. Tuesday with estimated maximum winds of 106 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo. 9NEWS Weather Impact Team meteorologist Chris Bianchi said the high-altitude location, situated west of Colorado Springs near Woodland Park, represents a unique tornado-prone area in the mountains.

Colorado is the only place I've seen a tornado. Grew up in the midwest and saw the aftermath of tornados but never saw one in person.
