targeting neighborhoods and residential areas is spreading fear in communities already living in fear of deportation.
You can eliminate the fear by leaving the US and going home on your own. Then apply legally to come here. Problem solved.
It's really important that we show that the people here are standing with our immigrant communities.
What you're saying is that it's fine to be illegal in this country as long as there's a crowd of people condoning it.
we stand against deportation, and we want ice out of our communities
Then leave on your own. Later, apply for legal citizenship. This is pretty simple to understand.
What is your plan, if you stay illegally and all the taxpayer dollars that subsidize you disappear? You do realize that the apartment you live in is too expensive for you pay for if the US taxpayers stop subsidizing it, right? Did you consider that?
Some protesters also fear that the recent operations are opening the door to bigotry and prejudice.
No, that was happening long before these raids. The media was suppressing.
The bigger problem is that whole "our communities" part. They think those areas are THEIR LAND and THEIR COUNTRY. It is not. They are here illegally and need to go. I am done with the "apply legally" part. You had a chance and you did the illegal option not the legal option. You don't get a "do-over" You get deported and banned for life.
Actions have repercussions and without harsh punishments more and more will just do the same.
