Hah, more things in common then. I prefer cold brew, my wife does not. I use ice like crazy, she barely ever uses it unless she is having a rare mixed drink or something. I too eat Lemon raw (lime too). She thinks im nuts and my family always have too.
Even more funny, her dad get's it (my father in law). He uses ice like crazy and when his wife makes hot tea (in the pot) he lets it cool for a bit then pours it over a full glass of ice. Must be something about the area we grew up in or the culture.
Those lemon slices they give you for your water? Yeah, I would just eat them like it was a orange or something.
I like the hot tea on day's im not feeling great or when it is very cold outside (like -10F+).
Oh, and I put lemon juice in my lemon zinger along with the honey. I daily use lemon juice in my ice water while working too...
My wife gets embarrassed when I eat the water lemon. Funny enough, around my childhood house, we had grapefruit, oranges, lemons, limes, kumquats, as well as tons of other fruit. It's LITERALLY the only thing I miss about that commy shithole: the citrus.
Recently, I've swapped up my lemon routine slightly. Used to eat them with straight salt. I've moved over to this cajun spice called Slap Ya Mama. Less salt, and it tastes like a crawfish boil. Tried other stuff like tajin before but it never hit right.
Sounds interesting, ill try it. I didn't grow up with any fruit trees around me. I am from the middle of the middle of no-where America and not one of the places that is good for growing fruit and is cold most of the year.
It was just a thing I did, I guess still do. My wife is not embarrassed about it though, she just knows that's how I am. Have you ever tried salt on watermelon? It's interesting.
Yes. My son goes full retard and actually uses MSG on watermelon, but that's too hard core for me. Salt actually helps a lot of different fruit though, not just watermelon. Apples, and pineapple both instantly come to mind.
