The sheriff's office said they were called to the stabbing around 7:45 a.m. on Chapman Drive at the Tenderfoot Trail, which is an Open Space and Mountain Parks trail located west of Boulder, near the 3400 block of Flagstaff Road. The victim was hiking when the suspect confronted him and stabbed him multiple times with a knife, the sheriff's office said. The suspect then ran up the Tenderfoot Trail to the Realization Point parking lot. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Deputies searched the area for the suspect, but were unable to locate him.
