I have been there decades ago and then again a couple of years before they closed. Back in the day it was worth going at least one time just to check it out. If I can force myself to travel down to Colfax (unlikely) I would totally check it out again to see if they really restored it to what it used to be. Denver is not safe and the area where Casa Bonita is not safe either. I am not going to suggest you go there but it used to be worth it. If you do go? Maybe get a lyft/uber or something so your car is not stolen or broken into.
