You'd think insurance companies would have a product for this. Some kind of insurance for renters to protect their property in case of a disaster. They could call it renters insurance or something.

At first I was like "no way", but the more I read, the more I realized if it was me, I'd maybe go on a killing spree, but then I reread the post title and saw it was a lightning strike. To be fair, my insurance wouldn’t cover rebuilding my house, they will not cover replacement value, so insurance is a scam too. And I’m at the highest level of coverage. At most, I’d be able to rebuild a very basic house at half the current square footage.
U probably could purchase additional riders on the policy. I have a lot of expensive camera equipment and I pay for additional coverage on that to insure it is covered
