The Aurora Police Department said in a release that officers responded to a shopping center at the northeast corner of East Mississippi Avenue and South Peoria Street just before 8 p.m. for a shooting. They found the victim, a 21-year-old man, in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with what police said are life-threatening injuries.
