A good snow year for the upper Colorado River Basin causes flooding, people who build next to the streams all must sandbag to prevent homes from flooding. I’d build on stilts if I were in a flood plain, but I know of 2 multi-million dollar homes built in the last few years near me flooded last year and the change of flooding is greater this year.
