When the street lights came on is when I had to be home after being outside all day, going all over the place.

Of course, that was over 50 years ago, it was wonderful. Seems like another age....

Yeah, now you just worry about broad daylight robberies at the local walmart or getting shot at a 7-11 while you are minding your own business.

I remember 30+ years ago when my son was little, we had an elastic band that went from our wrist to his. My parents were horrified, said he looked like a pet. Well, I wouldn't want to lose or have my pet snatched, much less my child.

They would watch him when we went on vacation. One time they took him to Penney's and he got away from them. He was playing hide and seek in the middle of those round clothes racks. My mother was frantic! Needless to say, they used the 'leash' from then on. 😏
