Something a little different from the usual shit I post about Colorado. Not everything has to be doom and gloom.
The Hanging Lake Trail hike near Glenwood is beautiful and if you can get a reservation to hike it I would absolutely suggest it. Too bad you have to get reservations now though.. I got the chance to hike it long before it become so popular and could just drive up and park at the trail head.
If you do make the hike, make sure to take the "back trail" by the lake to the water source. Its a big hole in the side of a rock face with a waterfall pouring out of it. Its amazing.
Make sure to bring some food/water though. Its not a hard hike but it is also not easy and you will probably want to hang out at the lake/waterfall for a while.

"The trail and bridges that suffered significant damage following the 2021 rock and mudslides in Glenwood Canyon will be re-engineered including the relocation of six of the trail's seven bridges to better accommodate water and debris flows. Two of the bridges will be relocated to provide better stream clearance. "
